Chelsea in for Alexis after Man City withdrawal


Manchester United's main rivals for Alexis Sanchez's transfer now appear to be Chelsea after Man City dropped out of the race, reports the Manchester Evening News.

City had appeared close to signing the Arsenal star, but have now withdrawn from contention frustrated at the pace of negotiations.

But United have not landed their man yet, and could even see a reported £35 million fee pushed up by the Blues' late interest. 


Arsenal in talks over Aubameyang transfer

Arsenal have made contact with Borussia Dortmund over a move for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, reports the Telegraph .

The Gabon international has been recommended to the Gunners by the club's new head of recruitment Sven Mislintat, the scout who brought Aubameyang to Dortmund back in 2013. 

Malcom is also close to signing for Arsene Wenger's team in a deal reportedly worth £44 million from Bordeaux.


Mourinho hints at Mkhitaryan exit

Jose Mourinho has suggested that Henrikh Mkhitaryan is set to leave Manchester United.

Mkhitaryan has reportedly been part of the negotiations regarding Alexis Sanchez's move to Old Trafford and looks set to be heading to Arsenal.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner is unhappy with the failed promises regarding a new contract at Madrid and is looking to leave the Santiago Bernabeu at the end of the season.

The 32-year-old, who has also been linked with Paris Saint-Germain as part of a swap deal involving Neymar, previously spent six hugely successful years at United before leaving for Madrid in 2009.

Manchester United are closing in on a move for Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal and could throw in Anthony Martial as part of a deal for the Chile international, the Evening Standard reports.

The Red Devils are ready to throw in the France star as part of the transfer, which could prove decisive as the Gunners hold out for a fee of around £30-35 million. Manchester City, meanwhile, have stalled their interest.

Dortmund sign Akanji

Borussia Dortmund have confirmed the signing of reported Manchester United and Liverpool target Manuel Akanji from Basel.

The two Premier League giants were said to be interested in the services of the 22-year-old, but Dortmund have beaten both to the prize in a deal thought to be worth in the region of €22 million.

Akanji, a Switzerland international centre-half, has signed a four-and-a-half-year deal at Signal Iduna Park.

Chelsea want Carroll loan move

West Ham striker Andy Carroll is Chelsea's main target for a January loan, Goal understands, but the club are assessing options to improve their forward line for the summer - with Watford's Richarlison and Borussia Monchengladbach's Thorgan Hazard candidates. 

The Blues still consider Alvaro Morata as their main striker after his £55 million move from Real Madrid in the summer, despite his recent five-game goal drought. Nevertheless, they want additional reinforcements, with Sevilla pushing hard to secure Michy Batshuayi on loan and the Belgium striker keen to leave to improve his World Cup chances.

With City having chased the Arsenal star but seemingly come up short , the report suggests that Guardiola will turn his attention to Antoine Griezmann.

With Alexis Sanchez seemingly now on his way to Manchester United , the Gunners are searching for a replacement and are closing in on a £44 million deal for Bordeaux star Malcom .

But Arsenal are also interested in signing Aubameyang from Borussia Dortmund and the Gabon striker’s former team-mate Mkhitaryan from United as part of the Alexis deal.

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers is interested in signing Chelsea midfielder Lewis Baker on loan for the rest of the season, reports the Daily Mail .

Baker is currently on loan at Middlesbrough, but hasn’t featured in the Championship since the end of September and new boss Tony Pulis is considering sending the 22-year-old back to Stamford Bridge.

Rodgers is also keen on Baker’s Chelsea team-mate Charly Musonda, but Antonio Conte’s side would prefer to send the winger to another Premier League club on loan.


€50m China offer for Nainggolan

Guangzhou Evergrande have offered €50 million to Roma to sign midfielder Radja Nainggolan, according to Gazzetta dello Sport .

Roma may be pressed into selling one of their key players, either in the January transfer window or the summer, and Nainggolan’s future is uncertain.

The Belgium international, who has previously been linked with Chelsea and Manchester United, could earn a €12m annual salary by moving to China, with Guangzhou Evergrande’s total outlay on the fee likely to come close to €100m due to the luxury tax for signing players from overseas.


Man Utd to offer De Gea new deal
