Ghanaian enforcer Frank Acheampong netted a brace for relegation threatened Chinese Super League side Tianjin Teda in their 4-1 win over Tianjin Quanjian on Saturday.
The 23-year-old grabbed his first and second league goals for Teda since his arrival on loan from Belgian side Anderlecht
For his first, Acheampong raced to connect with Yung Liyu’s low cross in the 25th minute and added his second less than a minute later after he showed great resilience to hammer home a rebound from his initial effort, beating the goalkeeper and the defence in the process.
Yuanyi Li scored Teda’s third and Wang Jie’s 93rd minute own-goal made it four while Alexander Pato grabbed Quanjian’s consolation goal.
The results were a significant boost for Teda’s quest in their fight against relegation and the three points earned lifted Uli Stielike's side out of the bottom two.
The defeat was Quanjian’s first in 12 matches.
