EXTRA TIME: Gervinho celebrates 2018 Chinese New Year

The former Arsenal and Lille star joined the Chinese in celebrating their new year that begins on Friday

Hebei China Fortune forward Gervinho has celebrated the 2018 Chinese New Year.

Unlike the usual festivities between December 31 and January 1, the Chinese New Year is based on the lunar calendar and takes place on a different date each year. This year's takes place on February 16.

Dressed in a Chinese outfit, the Cote d’Ivoire international joined his fans in China to celebrate the Year of the Dog, according to the Chinese 12-year animal zodiac cycle.
