The Mali international picked up a nasty injury against West Ham and has been ruled out for the rest of the season

Bakary Sako has expressed appreciation to Crystal Palace fans for their support, following report of the severity of his injury.

The 29-year-old suffered a fractured ankle against West Ham United in Wednesday’s English Premier League outing.

And, on Friday, coach Roy Hodgson confirmed that the former Wolverhampton Wanderers’ forward will be out of action for the rest of the season.

However, Sako has taken to social media to acknowledge the 'incredible support' he has received so far and is optimistic to return ‘sooner’ for the Selhurst Park outfit.

“You may have heard the bad news, I've suffered a fractured ankle after the challenge I received against West Ham during the last game.” Sako tweeted.

“I wanted to thank all of you for the incredible support I received since then. I hope to come back the sooner possible, with God's help.”
