Al Ain
3-0 Dubai Cultural Club
He was obviously the best performing Ghanaian player last week. Gyan did exactly what Robin van Persie did for Manchester United on Monday. The Ghana captain scored all three goals as Al Ain defeated Dubai Cultural Sports Club 3-0 to win the UAE pro league title with four matches to spare.  Gyan’s goal tally stands at 28 and he is set to end the season as the highest scoring Ghanaian player for the second time on a trot.
Congratulations to Gyan, Goal.com's 26rd Ghana Player of the Week winner!

Honourable Mention
THOMAS ABBEY - HEARTS OF OAK

The midfielder rescued Hearts from one of their tough matches at home in the second round of the league. Though Hearts were numerically advantaged after two players of Amidaus Professionals were sent off, they really struggled to break the deadlock until the very final minutes when Abbey stepped up to register the only goal of the match.

MAHATMA OTOO – HEARTS OF OAK

The 21-year-old has given the Phobians a sense of hope in the Ghana Premier League with his in-form performance that has helped the Accra giants to improve their standings on the log. The captain recorded a double over city rivals Liberty Professionals in midweek to help the former Africa champions finish the game 3-1.

Each week our team of writers will put forward a selected candidate, as chosen by Goal.com Ghana, who deserves recognition for achieving something special that matchday.

You can also help us choose a worthy recipient of the weekly accolade by leaving your nominations and comments. Your suggestions will be taken into consideration.

It won't necessarily be the best player in the country - at least not usually - but whoever we crown will have accomplished something amazing. It might be for a particularly awesome performance or for something praiseworthy off the pitch - either way, the person in question deserves special attention...
