Despite his failure to replicate club performance at the just ended 2013 Afcon tournament, the Al Ain forward made his way into the continent's best XI players by CAF
The Confederation of African Football (Caf) unveiled its list for the best 11 after Nigeria triumphed on Sunday to be the new African champions.
Gyan scored a goal in the six matches he played at the continental showpiece.
Champions Nigeria occupied five out of 11 slots on the CAF list including goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama, defender Efe Ambrose, midfielder Mikel Obi and forwards Victor Moses and golden boot winner Emmanuel Emenike who scored four goals in the tournament.
The team also includes player of the 2013 Afcon tournament Jonathan Pitroipa and his national team team-mate Bakary Kone.
