2013 Afcon: Fire Kwesi Appiah – Nyaho-Tamakloe demands

The former boss of the Ghana FA is asking the football powerhouse to sack the coach over wrong technical decisions that allegedly cost Ghana in the semi-final game
A former chairman of the Ghana Football Association Dr. Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe has urged the Ghana FA to fire Black Stars coach Kwesi Appiah when he returns from the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.

According to him, the man on the touchline showed technical bankruptcy during the Ghana-Burkina Faso semi-final game on Wednesday and needs to be shown the exit.

“Kwesi Appiah showed obvious lack of technical know-how and looked on helplessly as Burkina Faso overpowered Ghana in every department of the game,” Nyaho-Tamakloe told Graphic Sports.

“He needs to be fired.”

The firebrand added: “What is strange is that we had a natural left-back Kissi Boateng on the bench and we had to push Kwadwo Asamoah to defence when we lost John Paintsil.

“Did we just send extra defenders to South Africa just to add up to the team?”

“It was even more surprising that as penalties beckoned we had to take out our best penalty taker Mubarak Wakaso,” Nyaho stated.
