Fatau Dauda grabs Most Valuable Player award after Ghana's 2-0 win over Cape Verde
The Ashantigold shot-stopper stole the show with some fantastic saves in a very tensed game at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium
Ghana goalkeeper Fatau Dauda grabbed the Man-of-the-Match accolade in Black Stars' 2-0 win over Cape Verde on Saturday.
A double from substitute Mubarak Wakaso gave the four-time African champions a deserved 2-0 victory over the Blue Sharks in the quarter-final of the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Port Elizabeth.
The 26-year-old was immense on Saturday and stood between the Blue Sharks attackers to earn Ghana a ticket to the semi-final.
Cape Verde’s Djaniny came close in scoring in the 81st minute of the game with a well struck ball with pace but Dauda tipped the ball for corner and rose again to grab it.
The goalkeeper managed to put in a standout performance for Ghana reacting to save free-kicks on time.
