2013 Afcon: Black Stars shouldn’t disappoint Ghanaians - Augustine Arhinful
The former Ghana player says the Black Stars need to be tactically disciplined to win against Cape Verde
Former Ghana international Augustine Arhinful has cautioned the Black Stars to be tactically disciplined when they face Cape Verde in search of a semi-finals ticket at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.
The Africa Cup of Nations trophy has eluded Ghana for 31 years and many pundits believe is time for the team to end that title drought.
Arhinful, who currently serves as a member of the Ghana FA's technical committee, believes the only way the four-time African champions can beat the Blue Sharks on Saturday is to be focused and disciplined on the pitch.
“It is going to be a very difficult game. Both sides know how each other play so is basically going to be down to the tactical discipline of the team and also system of play Kwesi Appiah will put in Saturday,” he told Goal.com Ghana.
“The team needs to be disciplined tactically. I see Ghana going to the semi-finals, but as to the score line I can’t say because Cape Verde are tactically very disciplined and they don’t give up easily so Ghana have to be up to the task to perform creditably to carry the day and they shouldn’t disappoint.”
