2013 Afcon: It’s great to face Ghana in the quarters - Cape Verde coach Lucio Antunes

The coach of the Blue Sharks is unfazed he is facing one of the tournament’s favourites at the last-eight stage, adding it comes as an opportunity to prove a point to the world
The coach of Cape Verde Lucio Antunes is relishing a quarter-finals clash with giants Ghana in the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.

He said after tasting three games in their maiden appearance at the continent’s football fiesta, it is about time the Blue Sharks faced the heavy weights to prove a point.

“We have played three good games,” Antunes told the press in South Africa. “We came here very determined, and I'm very happy about what we have achieved.”

The debutants, who thwarted giants Cameroon from taking part in the 29th edition of the tournament, will be battling it out with the Black Stars on Saturday at the quarter-finals stage.

“They [Ghana] were the strongest team in Group B. We are happy to play against them because they are one of the best in Africa and at this stage of the competition we have to come up against such teams.

“We will now simply keep on working hard and try to win the next game,” Antunes stated.
