Porto's Christian Atsu grabs Most Valuable Player award after 3-0 Niger win

The midfielder showed enough skills in Ghana's win over the Mena that resulted in his first goal of the tournament to help the Black Stars progress to the knock out stage

Black Stars  midfielder Christian Atsu grabbed the Man-of-the-Match accolade in Ghana's 3-0 win over Niger on Monday.

The FC Porto player displayed a solid performance to help the four-time African champions book a place in the quarter-finals of the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.

He scored his debut Nations Cup goal after he connected a well worked ball from captain Asamoah Gyan in the 23rd minute.

The 21-year-old’s work rate caught the eyes of the Caf Technical Team thus rewarding him with a man-of-the-match award.

Meanwhile, Gyan was also awarded with the fair play prize in a game where he scored a goal and provided an assist.
