Richmond Boakye Yiadom ruled out of Mali match, Gyan and Wakaso recover from minor injuries

Kwesi Appiah will still be without the services of Richmond Boakye-Yiadom ahead of Ghana's meeting with Mali but fortunately for him, Gyan and Wakaso are fit to play

Ghana striker Richmond Boakye-Yiadom will miss Black Stars’ next 2013 Africa Cup of Nations Group B match against Mali on Thursday.

The 19-year-old picked up an ankle injury on the final day of Ghana’s pre-Afcon preparations in Abu Dhabi.

The Juventus striker who is on-loan at Serie B side Sassuolo missed the first match against DR Congo and he is still yet to recover.

“His recovery has been slow. He was expected to have trained with the side today but has experienced a setback in his recovery," head of Ghana's medical team, Dr Baba Adams said Tuesday evening.

He added that they will have a scan on him today to check up the injury.

Meanwhile, captain Asamoah Gyan and Mubarak Wakaso have returned to training after picking minor injuries in the first match.

The duo’s return will make coach Kwesi Appiah heave a sigh of relief.
