Kwesi Appiah has named his starting line-up to face DR Congo and the squad has five debutants while the yet-to-recover Annan and Vorsah sit out
Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah has named five players who will be making their Africa Cup of Nations debut in the line-up to face DR Congo.
Goalkeeper Fatau Dauda, Jerry Akaminko, Mubarak Wakaso, Albert Adomah and Christian Atsu all start for the Black Stars at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Port Elizabeth on Sunday afternoon against DR Congo in the Group B opener.
Juventus midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah will continue at left-back for Ghana as Akaminko partners John Boye in central defence due to Isaac Vorsah’s inability to pass the fitness test.
Also missing in the line-up is Anthony Annan whose exclusion is a precautionary measure.
