The veteran is aware teams that meet Ghana at any tournament go an extra mile to prove a point, but the current generation of the Black Stars are ready to tame any of their opponents.
“Any team against Ghana puts up a fight, we expect that,” the guardsman, who will be making his sixth Afcon appearance, said after their first training in Port Elizabeth. “We have to believe in ourselves.”
The Hapoel Tel Aviv player is optimistic Ghana could break the 31-year-old jinx due to the morale in camp as the Black Stars seek to win their fifth Africa title in South Africa.
He said: “It will be nice to win the African Cup for our nation. We will try to compete.
“There is competition in the team and everybody wants to play. Whoever gets the chance will die for the nation."
