Kwesi Appiah will win the 2013 Afcon – Ex-Black Stars striker Moro Issah

The retired forward is optimistic the 29th edition of the Nations Cup is going in favour of Ghana, and believes the coach has what it takes to win it
Former Ghana striker Moro Issah has tipped Kwesi Appiah to win the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa.

The Slovenia-based former footballer is calling on Ghanaians to rally behind the local coach to break a 31-year-old jinx by giving the west African country its fifth continental title.

Speaking to Ghana in Accra, where he is enjoying his holidays, the former Accra Great Olympics forward said with a little push, Appiah could write his name in the history books at the 29th edition of Africa’s biggest football gathering.

“Kwasi Appiah will win the [2013] Afcon just like how Sellas Tetteh won the Under-20 World Cup four years ago,” Issah opined. “All he needs is our support and I know he will deliver.”

The former Abusua Dwarfs star encouraged Ghanaians to trust in the coach and move away from the notion that it is only foreign coaches who can win trophies for Ghana.

The Black Stars will play their opening game against DR Congo on January 20 in Port Elizabeth, and have been paired in Group B with Niger and Mali too.
