English soccer side Accrington Stanley have announced a new kit supply arrangement with equipment brand Mitre.
The new deal covers the rest of the 2013/14 season and will see Mitre supply official playing and training kits to the League Two club.
Stanley’s new home kit will debut on Boxing Day at their home match against York City, although it will go on sale at the club’s shop and online three days earlier.
The team’s kit was previously being supplied by Samurai, the primarily rugby-focused brand which began supplying Stanley at the start of the 2011/12 season.
“It’s unusual for a club to switch kit supplier mid-season but this is an extremely positive move forward for us for many reasons,” said Stanley chairman Peter Marsden.
“Joining forces with such a well-respected, mainstream supplier that boasts a wealth of footballing tradition and technical expertise signals an exciting step for the club.
“The players and coaching staff love the new gear and Mitre has already been enormously supportive in providing fitness equipment as well as kit.”
