UAE Pro-League champion Al Ain has announced a long-term kit partnership with Nike.
The US sportswear giant, through its official distributor in the UAE, Sun and Sand Sports, will become the official kit supplier to Al Ain, as well as the authorised supplier of training equipment to all subsidiaries of the club. Nike will also assist the club with its merchandising strategy for the New Year, which also includes designing a store at the new Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium in Al Ain.
The partnership will take effect with the opening of the 25,000-seat facility, which features 3,000 premium seats – a percentage that Al Ain claims is the highest amongst stadia across the world. “We are moving away from signing on sponsors; we have instead welcomed partners on board, and Nike is a key partner,” said an Al Ain spokesman.
A Nike spokesperson added: “Nike, through Sun and Sand Sports, remains committed to growing the passion for football in the Middle East and we are always looking at new opportunities to support the game. Eleven times winner of the UAE League, Al Ain Football Club is one of the most successful clubs in the region. Nike is excited about the prospect of providing the most innovative football products for the club and for their future success in tournaments.”
