Betting company Berlin Lotto has secured a commercial partnership with Hertha Berlin ahead of the German football club’s return to the 1.Bundesliga.
The agreement, which was brokered by the Sportfive agency, will run for three seasons, from 2013-14 to 2015-16. Berlin Lotto will benefit from television and in-stadium advertising at Hertha’s Olympic Stadium home, along with a visible presence within the club’s marketing and PR activities.
Earlier in the summer, Hertha added insurance company Direct Line and energy comparison website Verivox to its portfolio of commercial partners, courtesy of respective two and one-year deals, before this week agreeing a three-year extension to its tie-up with car manufacturer Audi.
“Hertha is undoubtedly a flagship of Berlin football and Berlin,” Lotto Berlin chief executive Hansjörg Höltkemeier said. “We are a Berlin institution that is traditionally linked to sport and the city of Berlin, and we are looking forward to contributing towards the support for Hertha as they finally establish themselves in the Bundesliga.”
