A new purpose built camping facility, designed specifically for international football supporters hoping to visit Rio de Janeiro in Brazil for the Mundial - World Cup Camping Rio (WCCR) – has been launched.
WCCR will offer an affordable and secure base for supporters planning to follow their team in Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo and Belo Horizonte in June and July 2014, a statement said.
At the camping site, fans will have access to 24-hour professional security, bars, TV screens showing live games and entertainment.
“In addition, Recreio boasts the largest urban forest in the world, stunning beaches, nature reserves, and mountains. The site also benefits from superb transport links and offers a frequent shuttle service to the beach making it an excellent location for visitors wanting to explore Rio whilst in Brazil.”
World Cup Camping Rio can also organise match-day travel services to Sao Paulo and Belo Horizonte, which will offer supporters an affordable and direct travel option enabling them to get to their team games.
World Cup Camping Rio is the brainchild of Andy Allan, CEO of Real Property Fund, an experienced British property development company established in Rio since 2007, and co-founder and Project Director Stephen Pike.
Allan said: “We are aware that potential visitors to Brazil could be put off by security concerns. Having lived in the City for over 10 years now, my experience of the local people has always been warm and welcoming and their passion for football is legendary. One of the key reasons we chose Recreio is because it is considered one of the safest districts in the city, has excellent transport links and is an area of outstanding natural beauty. We feel we have a lot to offer anyone who wants to come and experience the unique atmosphere of a World Cup in Brazil. We are open to the global family of football supporters and everybody is welcome to come and join in what promises to be a fantastic event.”
Pike added: “We are excited to be able to offer football supporters an affordable option for accommodation and match day travel. We are committed to ensuring our pricing is fair and realistic and it is our intention to offer supporters the opportunity to make the trip without having to spend an arm and a leg.
“Brazil is the spiritual home of football and Rio is a fantastic city to visit and I am confident that this World Cup has the potential to be the greatest ever.”
