Hungry for success, the coach has made his intentions clear ahead of his side's upcoming Bundesliga clash

Werder Bremen coach Thomas Schaaf is confident about the 2012-13 Bundesliga campaign and feels that his new signings will be able to cause Borussia Dortmund problems in their opening fixture on Friday evening.

Having sold winger Marko Marin to Chelsea, the the 51-year-old has bolstered his ranks with the signings of Belgian starlet Kevin De Bruyne on loan from the European Champions and Dutch attacker Eljero Elia from Juventus for €5.5 million.

Theodor Gebre Selassie and Nils Petersen are also expected to make their competitive debuts having signed from Slovan Liberec and Bayern Munich respectively.

Schaaf is confident in the ability of his squad and believes they have the quality to oust Jurgen Klopp's side.

"We are able to do surprising and special things with our offence. That has to be our goal. We have to challenge our opponents.

"When we get the ball we cannot think for too long. We have to make our game fast and get in front of the goal."

Bremen are seeking to end a barren spell against the league champions as they have not won at the Westfalenstadion in their last five league visits.
