French-born Ghanaian youngster Kevin Osei is set to fly to the United States to hold trials with Major League Soccer giants DC United for a possible purchase.
Goal Ghana can exclusively reveal that Osei will fly out to the United States by the close of the week, and will undergo a one week trial with the former MLS champions.
Osei has a year left on his current contract with French Ligue 1 outfit Marseille and he has already held similar trials with Portuguese side Maritimo.
He has not played a single Ligue 1 match for Marseille since his promotion from the youth team to the senior side in 2009 though he was one of the stars in the Under-20.
DC United could offer Osei more playing time as he seeks to start a meaningful senior career after failing to make an impact at the senior side of the Stade Velodrome outfit.
The Marseille-born player has expressed his desire to play for Ghana. He was meant to take part in the 2011 African Youth Championship, but delays in obtaining his Ghanaian passport ruled him out.
