The Sassuolo and Parma target said he achieved little in Germany and would be happy to make a return to Italy where he is used to the environmentGhana international Afriyie Acquah has maintained he wants to return to Italy since his short spell in Germany at Hoffenheim did not favour him.
The midfielder was farmed out to the Bundesliga top flight during the winter transfer window, but hardly got on the team sheet.
“I was playing regularly for Parma back in Italy and then, Hoffenheim stepped in to bring me to Germany but things have not turned out as well as I would have liked,” Acquah told Citi FM.
“I met a new coach and since every coach already has certain players he would want to work with, I did not play much. However these things happen in football so I can understand.”
Acquah, who is on the radar of Sassuolo and Parma, said a return to the Serie A will be dream come true since he is used to the environment.
He stated: “I think going back to Italy would be good for me. I played there for five years and so, I understand the terrain better and I would be used to everything.”
