The 21-year-old midfielder, who is owned by Fiorentina, spent the just ended season on loan at the Sicily-based club. There was a meeting on Monday involving the agent of the player and officials of both parties concerning his future, but nothing concrete came out of it.
According to Firenzeviola.it, in the coming days there will be another meeting with the leadership of Etna and the Purple for a possible loan renewal.
Salifu is 90 percent set to remain at Catania on loan for another year baring any hitch, the report stated.
Salifu was signed by Fiorentina from Vicenza in 2011 and played 15 times for the senior side whilst he helped the Primavera side also to win the Primavera Cup.
He played 10 times for Catania during his loan spell last season.
