thumbnail Hello,

The Blaugrana midfielder speaks of his attitude towards individual prizes, his pride to play for club and country, and why Lionel Messi is the best player on the planet

Barcelona star Andres Iniesta has insisted that he does not dream of winning the Ballon d'Or.

Iniesta won the accolade of the best player in Europe this summer, and although he enjoys receiving individual praise he revealed that he is just happy to be playing at the level he is.

"I try to play my football and it is important that the people recognise my work, but I do not necessarily think about it," the Blaugrana playmaker told RMC.

"The Ballon d'Or is not necessarily a dream of mine. I do not necessarily think about the individual prizes, but if I win, of course I would be happy.

"I feel privileged to play at this time, with the best team of Barcelona, who I wish to finish my career with, and Spain. With the players that I am currently playing with, I feel better I am still getting better every day."

Iniesta was also quick to turn the attention to his team-mate Lionel Messi in light of the discussions of awards.

"Messi is the best player in the world," the Spain international added. "He does a lot of things in a very natural way. Playing with him is very easy, just like all the players with whom I play."
