Pantic: Atletico Madrid can win treble this season
The former player and youth coach believes that the Spanish side are capable of winning all three competitions which they are fighting for this campaign, domestically and in Europe
Former Atletico Madrid player Milinko Pantic believes that the current side are able to win La Liga, the Europa League and the Copa del Rey this season.Pantic, who spent three years at the Vicente Calderon in the mid-1990s, also praised the club's star striker Radamel Falcao after yet another goalscoring start to the season.
"I don't know where the ceiling is for this team. I don't know if there is one for this Atleti side," he told Marca. "The team is well and alive in three competitions. They can win it all.
"[The Super Cup victory] against Chelsea was a cakewalk. Atletico and their players made it a party to be enjoyed.
"Maybe it was the best game in the history of Atletico. I had several good times at that club. In my three years, there were also great moments.
"Falcao is a phenomenon. He's the best No.9 in the world, and the goal against Real Sociedad can be seen as another step in his career. I'm glad to have him here, for the fans and the club it's a privilege."
