Abdul Majeed Waris ‘injured’ in Lorient’s final game of 2016

The Ghana forward was pulled out of Les Merlus’ game against Paris St. Germain just before the end of first half on Wednesday night

After posting his best form of the season over the last month, Abdul Majeed Waris is ending the year on a sour note after he picked up an injury in Lorient’s 5-0 defeat to Paris St. Germain on Wednesday night.

The Ghana forward was substituted on 42 minutes as the visitors trailed by one goal. Though the club did not release a statement as at filing this report, PSG tweeted that the substitution was due to an injury as Jimmy Cabot came on in his stead.

Waris had been named Player of the Month of November by Lorient fans after his impressive form saw him score four goals in consecutive games for the bottom-placed team.
