Mensah revels in debut Evian goal but disappointed with draw

The centre-back lamented over Evian’s inability to hold on as Reims fought back to snatch an equalizer after scoring his maiden goal for his club

Ghana international defender Jonathan Mensah is reveling in his maiden goal for Evian TG last Saturday against Reims, but is disappointed with the 1-1 draw results.

The Ghanaian was expecting a win to cap off his day but Reims fought back and equalised to make the scores even in the French Ligue 1 game.

“It was a nice goal, but I am primarily disappointed with the final result because we really wanted to win this game,” Mensah told sports24. “We wanted to take the three points and it's a shame we conceded the late goal.”

The Ghanaian added: “We will not give up and we will continue to work because there is a game to play on Wednesday in the League Cup against Bastia so we will focus on it now.”
