Mamelodi Sundowns defender Rashid Sumaila is concerned by the tough scrutiny they will be receiving, just because they are the defending champions in the PSL
"It is always difficult to win back-to-back trophies, you become a target for most of the clubs. With pre-season underway, we will know how to approach the upcoming season very well," he told Football411.
The 22-year-old has reportedly caught interest from Europe, something that surprises him because he personally hasn't been contacted about it, nor have his representatives.
"I read that there are some clubs chasing for me in Europe. I have not spoken to any club and I am concentrating on next season. It has been wonderful for me in South Africa and it will be good to play at least a season or two here.
"I was congratulated and welcomed by my teammates and the coaches after the World Cup when I returned in SA and that alone is satisfaction for me. It is every player's dream to play for a top club in Europe, but you can only do so if a club shows an interest. For now, I am just going for the pre-season, hoping that things will be better for me and my club next season," Sumaila said.
The Brazilians open their campaign with a last eight MTN 8 meeting against champions Platinum Stars next Saturday in Tshwane.
