The former Fulham midfielder believes he will contribute his quota to help The Red Sashes achieve their aim for 2014-15 season in La Liga
Ghana international Derek Boateng has insisted he will work wholeheartedly for his new club Rayo Vallecano to achieve a top 10 finish in the upcoming Spanish La Liga season.
Boateng, whose stay at the Craven Cottage witnessed one of the most nadir stages of his playing career, said Rayo will benefit a lot from his experience.
“I am very happy to be here and I will give my best for this club,” Boateng said at his unveiling at the Campo de Fútbol de Vallecas. “I’ve known they wanted me since January. I like to have the ball and distribute so I ’m happy to be at this club.”
He added: “The manager [Paco Jémez] has told me what he needs me to do and hopefully we can make the top 10 this evening.”
The ex-Getafe playmaker is returning to Spain since leaving in 2011 for FC Dnipro in Ukraine. The well-travelled Ghanaian is expected to help the Madrid-based club to improve on their 12th placed spot last term and has had stints with AIK Stockholm, Panathinaikos, FC Köln and Beitar Jerusalem.
Boateng has played 46 times for Ghana scoring one goal.
