Giant Ghana ‘Flag of Vim’ heading to Brazil

The Flag of Vim campaign has been received with open hands by many Ghanaians across the country by signing onto the flag to showcase their sense of patriotism.

The campaign is to gather signatures from Ghanaians ahead of the 2014 World Cup and it will be used by supporters’ groups at the global football showpiece in Brazil.

The Flag of Vim is an 8x100 feet giant Ghana flag containing thousands of signatures of Ghanaians from all walks of life showing their support to the Black Stars in their third World Cup appearance.

The CEO of Lym Haus Solutions and Project Lead on the Flag of Vim Campaign, Mathew Ansah, is overwhelmed with the support the campaign has enjoyed from Ghanaians, adding that the flag will carry the spirit of Ghanaians to support the Black Stars.

“We are very happy with how Ghanaians received the campaign. Many Ghanaians can't travel to Brazil to support the team but they will be there in spirit with the Flag of Vim flying high around the stadium,” Ansah told Goal Ghana.

He noted: “The flag has more signatures ranging from people on the streets to celebrities including ex-Black Stars player Bernard Yao Kumordzi, Afia Schwarzenegger, Bola Ray, Kofi Asare Brako, Professor Edmund Delle, Jessica of Citi FM, Faddi Fatal of Metro TV, Joel Nettey, President of Advertising Association of Ghana among others.”

The Flag of Vim will be handed over to MUSIGA and flown to Brazil and officially handed over to the team ahead of their crucial Group G encounters.

Ghana have been paired with USA, Germany and Portugal.
