The Ghanaian goal appliance is on fire in the Arabian Gulf League and bagged a brace last night to go on top of the league’s scorer’s chart, two clear of Argentine Tagliabue
Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan scored two early goals for a 10-man Al Ain who shared the spoils in a 2-2 draw against Al Jazira on Thursday.
The ‘Baby Jet’ connected to Yassine El Ghanassy's long pass, and danced his way into the penalty area of the visitors and sent in a low drive for the opener after 21 minutes into the game.
Gyan made it 2-0 for the Bosses 22 minutes later when he put one past Al Jazira's goalkeeper Ali Khaseif after a lob pass from El Ghanassy to lighten up the atmosphere at the Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium.
Al Jazira crawled back into the game after the break when Felipe Caicedo connected Abdulla Qasem's pass to pull one back on the 68th minute. Al Ain were reduced to 10 men after Fawzi Fayez received his second booking of the night in the 80th minute and substitute Ali Ahmed Mabkhout made the numerical advantage count as he scored the leveler a minute later to break the hearts of the home fans.
The Black Stars goal poacher has now scored 28 goals in the league, two more than Al Wahda's Argentine forward Sebastian Tagliabue.
