The Phobian is happy about their victory over the weekend and strongly believes they’ll be one of two candidates to represent Ghana at the Caf Champions League next season
Hearts of Oak midfielder Winful Cobbinah has conceded that the Phobians struggled to beat Bechem United on Sunday to keep their Champions League chase on track.
Prior to the tie, the Accra giants had gone three games without a win but made strong amends to scale past the Hunters in a 2-1 win at the Accra Stadium in the FCP Premier League.
“It was a very tough game for us,” Cobbinah confided in Goal Ghana after the clash. “Honestly, we struggled before winning because our opponents came into the game to close us down so that we can't play our normal game, but we doubled our effort to get the win.”
He added: “The win has cushioned our chances for the Champions League slot because we are now leveled with Heart of Lions at 41 points.”
The Phobians’ next away game is against Sekondi Hasaacas in mid-week at the Essipong Sports Stadium with three games left to end the 2013-14 season.
