Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah has stated that the Black Stars are poised for a showdown with World Cup group opponents US, Germany and Portugal.
He said his charges are ready for the battle and nothing will intimidate them at Brazil 2014.
“We don’t fear people. We respect them. We have all qualified on merit and so there is no issue about fear,” Appiah was quoted as saying by Ghanasoccernet.
“I don’t see my team [being] scared of any other team at the World Cup. We’ll take every match as it comes. The important thing is to have our players ready for the tournament.
“If we’re afraid, then why are we going there in the first place? We also have quality players who play in Europe and other leagues with these same players.”
He added: “As far as I’m concerned, it’s about the spirit and belief that we can do it. We just have to be patient and see how things go.”
Ghana are making their third successive appearance at the global football showpiece after first qualifying in 2006 and then South Africa 2010.
