Accra Hearts of Oak have finally been toppled at the second position after losing 1-2 to Kpando Hearts of Lions and league leaders Asante Kotoko remain firmly rooted at the top

Accra Hearts of Oak’s long held second position has ended after tasting a 1-2 defeat at the hands of Kpando Hearts of Lions on Sunday.

Prince Acquah scored the winner in the 78th minute to give Lions a well deserved win at the Accra Sports Stadium. The visitors have thus overtaken Hearts to move to the second position. Mohammed Polo’s men are now in danger of missing a Champions League qualification spot.

Elsewhere, Abdul Aziz Yusif’s brace sandwiched Augustine Okrah’s penalty kick as Asante Kotoko won 2-1 against Bechem United.  Kotoko now hold a 10-point advantage with six matches left to end the First Capital Plus Premier League season.

Wa All Stars pumped in two goals against Amidaus Professionals as the latter slipped into the relegation zone.

Nuru Fuseini’s goal was enough to give New Edubiase United all three points against Berekum Chelsea.

Medeama SC continued to drop points as they were held goalless at the Tarkwa T and A Park by King Faisal.

Dwarfs recorded an important 2-1 home win over Ashgold to improve their chances of survival. Maintaining their new form under J.E Sarpong could see them beating the drop.

Former champions, Aduana Stars are still occupying the bottom spot despite walloping Liberty Professionals 3-0.

On Saturday, Inter Allies beat Hasaacas 2-0 to move out of the relegation zone for the first time this season.
