Ghanaians abroad: Kingson keeps clean sheet, Asamoah & Waris wow, Ayew sees red

Kwadwo Asamoah, Abdul Majeed Waris, Nana Kwesi Asare and Patrick Amoah were on target over the weekend amidst some awesome performances from Ghanaian players abroad


Kwadwo Asamoah scored in the 42nd minute as Juventus beat Fiorentina in Turin. Sulley Muntari played 71 minutes and Michael Essien was introduced in the 57th minute as AC Milan lost 0-1 away at Udinese. Emmanuel Agyemang Badu came on in the 85th minute for the homeside.
Afriyie Acquah played the final seven minutes for Parma who beat Hellas Verona 2-0 at home. Isaac Cofie came into the game in the 46th minute as Genoa lose by two goals to one to Chievo.

Masahudu Alhassan played the entire game as Latina went away and beat Bescia 2-0. Amidu Salifu played the entire game as Modena drew 2-2 away with Padova. Yussif Chibsah Raman lasted normal time for Sassuolo who went away to draw goalless with Bologna.


Emmanuel Frimpong came on in the 77th minute as Barnsley beat Nottingham Forest 1-0. Swansea loanee Curtis Obeng scored an own goal as Stevenage beat Tranmere Rovers 3-1 at home.

Patrick Agyemang came on in the 83rd minute as Portsmouth drew 0-0 at Fratton Park with Cheltenham Town. Kevin Amankwaah played 90 minutes for Salibury who drew barren with Luton Town. Bernard Mensah played full time for Braintree who dew goalless with Hereford United.


Jordan Ayew was shown a straight red card in the 85th minute as Sochaux were beaten 2-1 by Monaco at Stade Louis II. Abdul Majeed Waris scored the winner and provided an assist for the first goal as Valenciennes beat Rennes 2-1 at home. John Boye came on in the 77th minute for the losing side.


Kevin-Prince Boateng played the entire game and provided the assist for the third goal as Schalke 04 beat Hoffenheim 4-0 at home. Karim Bellarabi saw full action for Eintracht Braunschweiger who drew 2-2 away at Stuttgart.

Marcel Appiah played full duration for Arminia Bielefield who beat Erzgebirge by a lone goal. Youngster Razak Iddrisu also featured for the Under-19 Bundesliga leaders Wolfsburg who thrashed St Pauli by 5 goals to three. Baba Rahman’s Greuther Furth will play this evening.


Kwame Quansah came on in the 22nd minute as Heracles Almelo were humiliated 4-0 by AZ.. Striker Mathew Amoah was on the Heracles bench. Christian Atsu lasted 61 minutes and provided the assist for the winner as Vitesse Arnhem went away to beat NAC Breda 2-1. Jeff Sarpong came on in the 34th minute for Breda.

Fred Benson played full throttle for PEC Zwolle who were thrashed 3-0 by Heerenveen. Patrick Amoah scored in the 88th minute as Fortuna Sittard drew 2-2 with Excelsoir.

Forward Elvis Manu played 46 minutes for Cambuur who drew one all with Ajax. Johan Kappelhoff also lasted full time for Gronningen who were defeated two nil by Feyernoord. Erixon Danso also played 90 minutes for Doordrecht who drew three all with Volendam.


Ghanaian young midfielder Isaac Nana Asare sat on the Atletico Madrid bench as they beat Celta Vigo 0-2.


Bennard Yao Kumordzi played the entire game as KRC Genk hosted and beat RAEC Mons 3-1.
Daniel Opare was an unused substitute for Liege who beat Mechelen 2-0. Jerry Vandam saw full action for the losing side. Former Lions midfielder Abraham Kudemor came on in the 88th minute as Sporting Charleroi drew 1-1 at home with Lierse.

Nana Kwesi Asare (73 minutes) scored the opener for Gent who went away and thumped Cercle Brugge 4-1. Eugene Ansah came on in the 61st minute as Lokeren drew 0-0 at home with Waasland-Beveren. Marvin Ofori Appiah played 90 minutes for Dessel Sports who were walloped 3-0 by leaders Westerlo


Jerry Akaminko played 90 minutes at the heart of defense for Eskişehirspor who were piped by Besiktas. Richard Kingson kept a clean sheet as Balıkesirspor went away and beat Bucaspor 2-0.

Former Ashantigold striker Shaibu Yakubu played 76 minutes for 1461 Trabzon who were beaten by three goals to one by Ankaraspor.


Midfielder Carlos Ohene was introduced by AEL in the 59th minute as they beat Alki by three goals to nothing. Razak Nuhu lasted 90 minutes at left back for Apollon who beat Larnaca.
