The Super Eagles coach has been full of praise for Stephen Adams after his heroics at the CHAN tournament
Nigeria coach Stephen Keshi believes Stephen Adams has played an influential role in Ghana’s campaign at the CHAN tournament in South Africa.
The 24-year-old is the best at the tournament after conceding just one goal in five matches.
He was at his best when Ghana met Nigeria in the semi-finals last Wednesday after pulling crucial saves both within regulation time and the shoot-outs.
Adams' performance did not go unnoticed after the Nigeria coach singled him out for praise.
"I think the goalkeeper did a wonderful job and he is there to do that. He is there to save goals, he is paid to save goals. His career is to save goals so he did a wonderful job,” Keshi said.
"I would love it to be at the back of the net but when you see outstanding goalkeeper like that, I think he has been doing a wonderful job throughout this tournament."
"When you have a goalkeeper like that, you are rest assured that it can go in but it will take time before it goes in and that's what he has proved in this game. I wish him well."
Ghana will take on Libya in the final match on Saturday. The two sides drew 1-1 when they met in Group C.
