The experienced defender of Ghanaian origin is happy to extend his contract with the Danish giants
German-born Ghanaian defender Kolja Afriyie has extended his contract with FC Midtjylland as he keeps enjoying his stay with the former Danish champions.
The 31- year-old German whose contract would have expired during the winter has inked another deal which will take him to the end of 2014.
“I am happy to be in the club,” Afriyie told FC Midtjylland's website. “I came in 2006, and it was only in FC Midtjylland that I got my real breakthrough and established myself as a high profile player, so it was really an easy decision to extend the contract.”
Afriyie has featured for Energie Cottbus, AC Horsens and Esbjerg, before moving to FC Midtjylland.
The central defender who is also efficient at right back has only featured for the German national Under-21 team and is still eligible to play for Ghana.
