The Ghana winger helped Vitesse to beat Heerenveen in the Eredivisie after he was handed his first start
Ghana winger Christian Atsu got the chance to start his first game for Vitesse Arnhem in Saturday’s Eredivisie match against Heerenveen.
The on-loan Chelsea player made his debut as a substitute when Vitesse lost 1-2 to Feyenoord in the previous match.
The 21-year-old lasted the entire duration of the game as they came from behind to clinch an away victory.
Vitesse had lost their two previous games hence needed the three points badly last night.
The former Porto player seems to have landed a starting spot in Peter Bosz’s side after his paper work delayed his debut.
Atsu scored in Ghana’s 6-1 victory over Egypt in the 2014 WC qualifying play-off last weekend.
The former Porto player is bent on shining at Vitesse to pave way for a re-union with his mother club, Chelsea next summer.
