Asante Kotoko have gone six games unbeaten in the 2013-14 season of the Ghana Premier League after beating Sekondi Hasaacas in an outstanding fixture on Thursday.

The Porcupine Warriors defeated the returnees in a 2-1 encounter at the Baba Yara Stadium to go three-point clear of traditional rivals Hearts of Oak. The Kumasi giants remain at the summit of the league log with 18 points from six games.

Michael Akuffo and Richard Mpong gave the defending champions their two goals of the day to keep their winning streak in the domestic top flight whiles Quayson had the consolation for the Sekondi-based side in the second half.

Kotoko’s next date is with Bechem United on October 20.
