Norwegian top flight side SK Brann have announced the capture of Ghana Under-20 midfielder Kennedy Ashia.

The Liberty Professionals midfielder was signed on loan for six months and has an option to extend or make his deal permanent if he impresses by December, the club said in an official statement.

The coach of the three-time Tippeligaen league champions Rune Skarsfjord is upbeat Ashia will fill in the shoes of their departed player Fredrik Nordkvelle.

“He [Ashia] must show something out of the norm if he should be with us,” Skarsfjord said.

He has described the 19-year-old, who scored 14 goals for the ‘Scientific Soccer Lads’ as an “exciting player with great attacking skills.”

Ashia was also instrumental for the Black Satellites at the 2013 Fifa Under-20 World Cup in Turkey.
