The Ghanaian youngster who was signed recently on loan has earned applauds from his technical handlers at the Norwegian sideFormer Norway international Havard Flo has lauded the qualities of young Ghanaian midfielder Gilbert Koomson.
The 18-year-old was acquired on loan from Thai Premier League side BEC Tero Sasana this summer and was efficient in his first game in the Tippeligaen for Sogndal.
“He is going to be an important addition for Sogndal in terms of his good qualities,” Flo told the club’s website.
“Gilbert has signed a leasing agreement which keeps him in Sogndal this season. He has received jersey number 30.”
Coach Olsson also heaped lots of praises on the teenager and it is likely he will give him the chance this weekend when they play against Rosenborg.
“Gilbert is an exciting player, and we are pleased that the papers are in order. He is with us on the bus to Trondheim now, so we’ll see if he goes straight into the team, or if he starts the game on the bench,” Olsson stated.
Koomson has been in Sogndal a couple of weeks now, and has already played in the NTF Under-19 tournament in Hamar.
Koomson is a product of the youth academy of Thai Tero Sasana and has played for the Ghana U17 national team.
The club earlier this week signed Accra Hearts of Oak striker Mahatma Otoo.
