Abanga pens three-year deal with Hearts of Oak

The 25-year-old has been given an improved contract for a period of three years ending speculations he would be heading to the Len Clay Stadium
Accra Hearts of Oak have renewed the contract of their midfield sensation Kofi Abanga after speculations that he would be joining Ashanti Gold.

Abanga, who has been linked with many clubs after the 2012-13 Ghana League season has had an improved deal with the former continental champions, which will expire in 2016.

The 25-year-old, who was tipped to take the Ghana league by storm, has sustained career-threatening injury in his first season with the Phobians, which saw him warm the bench under former coach C.K. Akunnor.

He managed to improve tremendously under coach David Duncan and this could be the reason why the 20-time league champions do not want to farm him out to the Miners.
