The 19-year-old has joined the Swedish side on a three-and-a-half-year deal after impressing on trialsRight to Dream graduate Ema Boateng has joined Swedish side Helsingborgs IF on a three-and-a-half-year deal.
Boateng, 19, joined Helsingborg from the University of California, Santa Barbara after impressing on trials.
According to the club, Boateng “showed fine qualities when Helsingborgs' Under-21 team played against Hacken.”
The midfielder scored four goals and four assists in 18 games for the Santa Barbara Soccer Club last season.
Boateng got a scholarship to study and play College football in Southern California in the USA after leaving Right to Dream Academy in 2008.
He will be linking up with fellow RtD graduate and friend David Accam at Helsingborgs.
“Accam know Ema well and has given us good reviews. We know what we're getting for players with Boateng, he reminds me a lot of Accam,” says Helsingborg’s sports director Jesper Jansson.
Accam became an instant hit after joining Helsingborg from Ostersund last year, making the quick transition to top flight football.
“I talked to David and he has only good things to say about HIF,” said Boateng.
“There is also the impression I got from the club when I was here last summer. I really want to play for HIF and I am happy to be representing HIF-shirt.”
Boateng is the 16th RtD graduate to sign a professional football contract.
