The Blues have released their English-born Ghanaian defender after injuries hampered his progress
The teenager was drafted into the Chelsea Academy at the age of 14, but serious knee injuries have restricted his playing time and he has not been able to make an impact in the youth team.
“Nortei Nortey signed for us at Under-14 but he was unfortunate with a couple of bad knee injuries that required operations,” Blues Academy chief Jim Fraser told the club's official website.
“He came back fit and strong and is still with us at the minute to get fit to go on trial. I've spoken to a couple of clubs on his behalf hopefully he will get in somewhere for pre-season.”
Nortey who was born in London on October 29, 1994 holds both Ghanaian and British Passport and is eligible to play for any of them.
