4-1 USA U20

The Liberty Professionals player stole the show in Ghana’s 4-1 victory over USA in the final round of group matches at the 2013 Fifa Under-20 World Cup. After two defeats, the Black Satellites needed a mammoth victory against the Americans to stand any chance of sneaking into the round of 16 stages. Assifuah did well to give Ghana what exactly they wanted after netting two goals in 20 minutes in the 4-1 victory. The win gave the 2009 champions a place in the knockout stage where they will face Portugal.

Congratulations to Ebenezer Assifuah, Goal Ghana's 35th Player of the Week winner!

The Shortlist
MAHATMA OTOO - HEARTS OF OAK

The Ghana striker continues to accentuate his impressive campaign with very important goals for the Phobians. The Hearts of Oak captain grabbed a brace on Monday as the Capital club beat Medeama SC 2-0 to win the 2013 President’s Cup. Otoo ended the Premier League season as the top scorer with 20 goals and a few days later, he received the SWAG best premier league player of the season award.

FREDERICK QUAYESON - SEKONDI HASAACAS

He inspired Hasaacas to make a return to the elite division after a fine outing in the second round of matches in the Zone 2 play-offs. The former Ashgold player was a brace hero in the 3-1 win over Gold Stars over the weekend. The win gave the Sekondi Lads their ticket to the Premier League with a match to spare.
