The Phobians beat the Congolese giants on penalties in the President's Cup in Ghana to set up a final with Medeama

Accra Hearts of Oak beat Congolese giants Tout Puissant Mazembe in a GHALCA Cup (President's Cup) game played at the Accra Sports Stadium this evening.

The game started with each side making incursions to the other's vital area but it was the visitors who were looking likely to score with the likes of Given Singuluma and Mputu Tressor all coming close.

Hearts of Oak lifted their game and match their opponent squarely but could not find the net despite creating some decent chances.

Mazembe equalised in the 75th minute through Bokanga after Hearts has taken the lead in the 69th minute through Thomas Abbey.

Both sides could not win in regulation and the game went into penalties with Hearts scoring four and Mazembe scoring three.

Richard Kissi Boateng and Solomon Asante started the game for Mazembe.

Boateng missed his penalty and Hearts skipper Mahatma Otoo converted the kick to hand the Phobians a win. They will now face off with Medeama in the final on Monday, July 1 after the Mauves and Yellows beat Enugu Rangers 2-1.
