The captain of the Phobians says he is content with where they ended up at the close of the season and hopes next year will be betterAccra Hearts of Oak skipper Mahatma Otoo has described their 2012-13 Ghana Premier League campaign as a “miraculous” one with the Phobians finishing on the 5th log after a very difficult campaign in the first round of the league.
Otoo scored a hat-trick on the final day of the season against Tema Youth on Sunday at the Accra Sports Stadium to earn him the Premier League top-scoring accolade with 20 goals.
The 20-time Ghana top-flight champions lost only one match in the second half of the season after a difficult first half of the season which saw them pine on the relegation zone.
“We have come a long way looking at where we started in the second round, to God be the glory,” Otoo opined to Goal Ghana.
“I think it is a miraculous performance looking at the league season - we lost only one match during the second round which is not usual, so we have to thank the Almighty God for bringing us to the end of a successful season.”
Otoo added: “When the league started my aim was to help the team win the league, but it didn’t happen so I think the goal-king is a blast to the supporters and I think they love it.”
