The Ghana manager admits having the Ayews around will add a lot to his team and quickly added he is still working to get them rescind their decisions
Ghana coach, Kwesi Appiah says he wants all his star players back including Andre Dede Ayew, 23 and Jordan Ayew, 21.
The brothers who both play for Olympic Marseille announced their retirement from the Ghana national team in February this year citing different reasons for their actions.
The Ghana FA has since made attempts to get the Ayews back including sending a delegation to meet their father, Abedi Pele, an Africa football legend and former captain of the Black Stars.
Kwesi Appiah confirmed that he has personally been in touch with the duo even after the games governing body wrote back to them asking for their returm.
“They are two great players and every national coach would want to have them around.
"It is important that every good Ghanaian player comes on board to help the nation.
"It is unfortunate that they have written to us to say they want to step back. After they wrote to us, we wrote back and said we didn't accept their decision - we still need them.
"We said we would give them time and we are still talking and we hope they will come back to help,"Appiah told the BBC.
Lately, several players have retired from the national team prematurely and the Ghana FA is bent on making that a thing of the past since it sends a negative signal to the up and coming stars.
