Ghana defender Gideon Baah has shot his club FC Honka to the quarter-finals of the Finnish Cup with a lone goal against KooTeePee.
Baah, who is on a season-long loan, has instantly become a fulcrum of the club and grabbed the headlines on Thursday evening with his sublime finish that gifted his side a quarter-finals slot.
The Asante Kotoko on-loan guardsman now has two goals in his name since joining the Finnish side – one from a friendly game and the recent one in a Cup match.
A very cheerful Baah, who is set to feature in his third league game on Sunday, said he is pleased with his performance so far, but looks forward to making it big in the league.
“My immediate focus is to help Honka climb on the league log,” Baah said after their 1-0 win. “We have played two games already in the league and I am happy to be playing a major role here.”
He added: “I am looking forward to Sunday and I hope to give off my best. Morale is high in camp and everyone is optimistic a win is in sight and I’m very positive too.”
