The Porcupine Warriors proved superior over their hosts despite fielding fringe players to keep their Ghana FA Cup dream aliveKumasi giants Asante Kotoko tamed second-tier side Agbozome Weavers in a 4-1 win at the Ho Park in their outstanding Ghana FA Cup round of 32 tie.
The Porcupine Warriors scored two goals in either half with the minnows earning a consolation after the interval on Wednesday.
It was Aziz and Baffoe who put the visitors in the lead whiles Michael Helegbe and Eric Donkor made it four for the Reds after the break. Weavers’ solitary goal came from the spot through Alorvi.
The defending champions of the Ghana Premier League were dominant in the first half, but fell flat in the second which allowed the home side to come to the fore in the last 30 minutes.
Kotoko, which fielded most of their fringe players due to this weekend’s Caf Champions League assignment with JSM Bejaia, will next play another lower division side Rainbow FC in the round of 16 clash.
